PROJECT ESTIMATOR, HOUSTON, TX (REMOTE)

Job Description:
The Project Estimator will support mining, construction, and Oil & Gas–related projects. The Project Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for capital and operational projects, using industry-standard estimating tools and methodologies.
This is a remote position, requiring strong collaboration with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for mining, construction, and Oil & Gas projects
Develop conceptual, preliminary, and definitive estimates using RSMeans
Analyze drawings, specifications, scope documents, and schedules
Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
Support project budgeting, cost control, and change management
Evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids and proposals
Identify cost risks, assumptions, and opportunities for optimization
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to validate estimates
Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking for future projects
Required Qualifications
10+ Years - Proven experience as a Project Estimator in Mining and Construction environments
Experience supporting Oil & Gas projects is a strong plus
Hands-on experience with RSMeans estimating tools
Strong understanding of construction methodologies and cost drivers
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Proficiency in Excel and cost estimating software
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Experience estimating large-scale mining or industrial projects
Familiarity with EPC project delivery models
