Our client is seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join the minerals and metals group and contribute to a variety of Land Development, Site Design, Roadway/Transportation, Water Management and Grading projects associated with development of a major industrial site.
What You’ll Do
Provide sound civil design solutions for specific tasks related to site development, stormwater management, site grading, roadways, and other related activities.
Define and plan project work scope, schedules, budget, and resource requirements.
Independently develop high quality civil engineering products including construction document drawings, specifications, narratives, and calculations
Effectively and proactively communicate project needs, changes, and status to internal and external team members
Review drawings and proposals by vendors, engineers, and architects, internal design resources, and drive multi-disciplinary coordination.
Assist in oversight, coordination, and review of design efforts by outside consultants.
Respond to requests for information related to onsite construction activities as related to civil design products.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
Registered and in good standing as an Engineer in Training and actively pursuing professional registration in the State of Texas. Current PE registration a plus
5+ years of hands-on experience in active civil design, preferably in an industrial setting.
Experience in civil engineering design, stormwater management plans, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), storm water analysis and management, heavy civil, roadways, underground utilities, wastewater, and manufacturing settings.
Operational construction Site development background with experience in design of roadway, grading, pavement, sewer, storm drainage, water, erosion and sediment control, and traffic plans. Railroad experience is a plus.
Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil design Ability to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and timelines. Experience and proficiency with storm water modeling software is a plus.
Experience with codes, standards, and regulations related to civil design, road construction, utilities, and storm water management.
Ability to communicate clearly and interface within a diverse team.
Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion
Desire to do the impossible with a positive and professional "never say die" attitude
Demonstrates an "outside the box" problem solving approach; develop alternative and innovative design solutions
Excellent written and spoken English.
Experience in transportation and traffic analysis from local to regional scales
Experience in project sites with multi-users and modes of transportation
