PHYSICAL SECURITY ENGINEER, HOUSTON (ONSITE - TRAVEL EXPENSES PAID)
Contract: 6 Months
Job Description:
Minimize alarm occurrences across multiple facilities by enhancing systems, identifying and repairing faulty sensors, installing necessary signage, and implementing process improvements.
Scope:
System Improvement and Alarm Reduction:
Analyze current alarm systems to identify patterns and frequent alarm triggers.
Implement enhancements to reduce false alarms and improve reliability.
Test and validate improvements to ensure effective alarm reduction.
Faulty Sensor Identification and Repair:
Conduct a comprehensive audit of all sensors in HQ and other facilities.
Identify sensors that are prone to faults or false alarms.
Repair or replace faulty sensors to ensure accurate and reliable operation.
Establish a regular maintenance schedule to prevent future sensor issues.
Signage and Process Improvement:
Assess the need for additional signage to guide staff and visitors in minimizing alarm triggers.
Develop and implement process improvements to reduce the likelihood of alarm activation.
Train staff on new processes and the proper interpretation of signage to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Deliverables:
Detailed report on alarm system analysis and identified improvements.
List of faulty sensors identified, and actions taken to repair or replace them.
Installation of necessary signage and documentation of process improvements.
Training materials and records for staff training sessions.
Develop a maintenance schedule
Knowledge/Experience:
Basic electronics and simple DC circuits
Interpretation of schematic drawings and blueprints
Proficient in the functionality of alarms and software-based access control systems (preferably LENEL OnGuard).
Installing IP cameras PTZ and Fixed
Experience with various types of electrified door hardware (Best, HES, VonDuprin)
Skills:
Technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Operation of basic electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeter)
Operation of ladders and lifts
Operation of hand and power tools
Willingness to work independently and multi-task
