GIS WEB DEVELOPER, AUSTIN, TX(HYBRID)

Job Description:·   

This position is seeking a Geospatial professional with data and web development skills using python and the Esri platform and JavaScript API. This position will serve primarily as a front-end web developer assisting with application development, interface design, data automation, workflow management, data publishing and data lifecycle management, and database ETL. Experience with Esri suite of products such as Web App builder, experience builder, workforce, Survey 123, Collector, ArcGIS dashboards and/or other tools a major plus.

Position supports with developing configurable web-based GIS applications to be used in an internal environment for analysis, visualization, or other business needs. Experience with Esri JavaScript API/JavaScript development required. Strong python and JavaScript programming skills will be applied to development and maintenance of web interfaces, data automations, data publishing processes, data manipulation, and ETL as primary responsibility. Position will assist with application and data management documentation, internal process wiki contributions and content, and input for training documentation. 

Required Skills:

  • 8 Yrs of Professional web and data development experience using one or more programming languages for automation, analysis, software, or web application development.

  • 4 Yrs of Professional GIS data development and workflow automation using python programming language.

  • 4 Yrs of Development of python automations, scripting tools, and use of Jupyter notebooks for managing custom workflows

  • 6 Yrs of Experience writing custom JavaScript functions for front end interfaces and web-based tools

  • 4 Yrs of Professional GIS data development and workflow automation.

  • 6 Yrs of Development of front-end tools using open APIs and REST services

  • 6 Yrs of Experience working with geospatial concepts, data, and platforms/software (Portal for ArcGIS, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, GIS Web Mapping/APIs, Open-Source GIS Software and Web APIs) 

  • 4 Yrs of Proficiency translating user stories/user requirements into web-based applications

  • 4 Yrs of Experience creating custom tools for ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and/or ArcGIS Enterprise.

  • 2 Yrs of Experiencing managing code repositories using GitHub

Preferred Skills:

  • 2 Yrs of Experience using the Esri JavaScript API and working with web-based APIs to develop mapping applications and custom web tools

  • 1 Yr of Experience with Safe Feature Manipulation Engine (FME)

  • 4 Yrs of Interface customization and styling with HTML and CSS

  • 2 Yrs of Business analytics and data visualization skills using ArcGIS and/or Tableau

  • 1 Yr of Workflow diagramming using Visio, google.io, etc.

  • 2 Yrs of C# development of custom tools for ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro

  • 2 Yrs of Technical support, knowledge of ServiceNow technology.

  • 1 Yr of Tableau dashboarding and visualization.

  • 2 Yrs of Basics of web application configuration and frameworks.

  • 1 Yr of Application documentation/technical writing

  • 1 Yr of Familiar with and able to work in other open GIS web frameworks (e.g., Leaflet)
