ENGINEERING COORDINATOR, HOUSTON/SAN FRANCISCO, TX (ONSITE)
Contract: 6+ Months
Job Description:
The candidate will coordinate schedules, budgets, and documentation across engineering disciplines, keeping design projects on track from concept through construction support.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate schedules, deliverables, and priorities across process, mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation, and structural engineering.
Track project costs and budgets.
Maintain project documentation in collaboration with document controllers, including drawing registers, transmittals, RFIs, and design basis documents.
Coordinate document control processes, ensuring deliverables are reviewed, approved, and issued on schedule.
Develop and maintain project schedules in Microsoft Project, tracking milestones and critical-path activities.
Liaise with engineering contractors to track engineering activities.
Prepare progress reports, meeting minutes, and status updates for internal teams and clients.
Identify schedule risks and bottlenecks and help develop mitigation plans.
Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve project coordination and efficiency.
Actively engage in development of Client’s internal software tools.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
5+ years of professional experience.
Experience tracking costs within a project environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Microsoft Project.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and support delivery of high-quality engineering packages under schedule constraints.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with industrial projects.
Experience developing processes and procedures.
Familiarity with document control or project management platforms.
Experience with procurement including POs, change orders, agreements.
Experience developing software tools.
