Job Description:·
Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations
Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgment
Oversees collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work from multiple disciplines/firms
Review and approve Engineering firm's structural models, calculations reports, drawings.
Ensure steel structures weight is optimized.
Prepares a variety of engineering deliverables for multiple or large projects
Requirements:
5+ years of experience designing steel structures used in industrial plant like pipe rack, skids, process equipment supports, cable tray/piping supports, structural modules for lifting and transportation is preferred.
Conduct structural analysis on concrete forming systems and generate calculation packages
Knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) steel manual, American Concrete Institute (ACI) code 318, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 7, and International Building Code (IBC)
Experience with AutoCAD, Naviswork, Revit, Tekla and/or Advanced steel or similar design software
Understanding of other disciplines such as: mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying
Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management
Experience with STAAD Pro, RISA-3D, Etabs , RAM connections or similar analysis software
P.E license (Civil Structural) in the State of Texas required.
